Consent & Boundaries Guidelines
Last updated: November 16, 2025
1. Purpose and Scope
These Consent & Boundaries Guidelines ("Guidelines") outline essential principles for respectful, safe, and consensual interactions between users of Couple Socials (the "Company," used exclusively as a contractual designation).
These Guidelines do not constitute legal advice, professional counseling, or safety guarantees.
They are advisory only and intended to help users understand and practice appropriate interpersonal conduct—online or offline.
Users remain solely responsible for ensuring their actions are safe, lawful, consensual, and respectful.
2. Foundational Principle: Consent Is Mandatory
Consent must be:
- voluntary – freely given without pressure or coercion
- mutual – agreed upon by all involved parties
- informed – based on accurate, honest understanding
- specific – granted for a particular action or context
- ongoing – valid only while it is continuously affirmed
- reversible – any person may withdraw consent at any time, for any reason
A lack of resistance, silence, or previous consent does not imply current consent.
The Company does not monitor, verify, supervise, or enforce consent in any form.
Users bear full responsibility for respecting boundaries and obtaining explicit permissions.
3. Communication Between Partners (Internal Couple Dynamics)
Because the platform is used jointly by couples, clear internal communication is critical. Users should:
- discuss comfort levels and expectations openly
- establish shared rules and boundaries beforehand
- communicate honestly if something feels uncomfortable
- prioritize the well-being of their partner at all times
- avoid hiding or misrepresenting intentions
- revisit and renegotiate boundaries periodically
The Company does not mediate couple disagreements, verify internal consent, or intervene in relationship dynamics.
4. Communication With Other Couples
When interacting with other couples, users should ensure:
- honesty about intentions, expectations, and boundaries
- clear confirmation of comfort levels
- avoidance of assumptions
- willingness to respect refusals immediately
- equal participation and mutual respect between all parties
Pressure, guilt-tripping, manipulation, or misrepresentation are prohibited and unsafe.
5. Consent During Online Interactions
Users must explicitly obtain consent before:
- sending sexual or intimate content
- requesting similar content from others
- discussing sensitive or intimate topics
- initiating video calls, voice calls, or live interactions
- sharing personal information or private details
Unsolicited sexual content is inappropriate and may result in account action.
Users are solely responsible for the risks associated with sharing explicit material.
6. Consent During Offline Meet-Ups
If users choose to meet in person—whether for social, romantic, or intimate purposes—they do so entirely at their own discretion and risk.
Users must:
- confirm agreement from all participants prior to the meeting
- review expectations and boundaries beforehand
- show respect for personal comfort levels at all times
- immediately stop any action if anyone expresses discomfort
- avoid intoxication levels that impair consent
- leave any situation that feels unsafe or pressured
The Company does not supervise, endorse, or guarantee safe meet-ups.
7. Boundary Violations
The following behaviors constitute boundary violations and are strictly discouraged:
- continuing a conversation after someone declines
- pressuring another couple to meet
- insisting on sexual or intimate activities after refusal
- ignoring discomfort signals
- sending explicit media without permission
- shaming or manipulating someone into agreeing
- breaching previously agreed-upon boundaries
- violating confidentiality agreements or expectations
Boundary violations may be reported but the Company does not guarantee monitoring or enforcement.
8. Confidentiality, Privacy, and Respect
Users must not:
- share screenshots, photos, messages, or private information without explicit permission
- reveal another user's identity outside the platform
- disclose meet-up details publicly
- share intimate content with third parties
- record communications without consent
Violating privacy undermines trust and safety.
The Company is not responsible for confidentiality breaches between users.
9. Substance Use and Decision-Making
Consent may be invalidated if a person is:
- intoxicated
- impaired
- unable to make clear decisions
- under pressure or coercion
- influenced by threats, fear, or manipulation
- misled by false information
Users are responsible for ensuring they—and others—are capable of giving informed and voluntary consent.
10. Withdrawal of Consent
Consent may be revoked at any time. When consent is withdrawn:
- all activities must stop immediately
- no further communication or pressure is permitted
- users must respect the boundary without argument
Withdrawal must be honored immediately and absolutely.
11. Reporting Boundary Violations
Users may report inappropriate conduct or boundary violations to:
Email: safety@couplesocials.com
The Company may take action where appropriate but:
- does not guarantee response times
- does not guarantee dispute resolutions
- does not investigate every report
- does not intervene in interpersonal conflicts
- does not guarantee removal of users
Users are responsible for their own safety and conflict management.
12. No Duty to Protect, Verify, or Oversee
The Company does not:
- supervise user activity
- verify consent
- evaluate the legitimacy of relationships
- monitor interactions
- intervene in disputes
- guarantee emotional, physical, or sexual safety
- enforce compliance with these Guidelines
Users are solely accountable for all personal decisions and actions.
13. User Acknowledgment
By using the Service, you acknowledge:
- you understand the importance of consent
- you will respect boundaries—your own and others'
- you assume all risks related to communications and interactions
- the Company is not liable for any harm related to consent or boundaries
- any violations may result in account action without refund
- you are responsible for ensuring all interactions are lawful and consensual
